power of the pussybow

This is an outfit with a strong point of view. The bow, the colour contrasts and pops, the shape. All pieces of this outfit are celebrated equally. The brightness and shape of the blouse is the first thing you see. Then your eye travels down and you notice the flair and the pocket details of the jeans, and then finally, a pop of colour at the bottom, with those bright toes poking through. It’s professional with personality.

A few of these pieces are no longer available, so I have linked similar items that you may also love.

blouse

Atmos&Here “Sabine Tie Neck” top in green spot

There’s so much to love about this blouse. The colour and print, the billowing sleeves, the sophisticated pussybow. It’s the perfect go-to for professional settings. I have worn this just as a blouse with trousers, but also under a black midi dress to give a pop of colour.

It’s an effortless piece that always looks polished and put together.

 Worth it? Absolutely.

Cost per wear: $59.99 x 12 wears = $4.99

jeans

Lania ”Chrome Jean” in indigo

I had never heard of this brand before. I was down the south coast of NSW when I had a wardrobe malfunction, and needed a new pair of pants quickly (thanks Swannies Clothing in Merimbula). Jess, the owner of Swannies, wholeheartedly recommended the Lania Chrome jeans, and was wearing a pair at the time. What better endorsement is that?

The fabric make up is 61% cotton, 26% polyester, 11% rayon and 2% elastane. These have a lot of stretch and hug you everywhere you need it. The subtle flair is very flattering. I also love the indigo shade, a nice mid point shade.

Worth it? The price point is quite high, but they’re comfortable and they’ve got a lot of stretch in them, so they’re worth the investment.

Cost per wear: $240 x 8 wears = $30.00

heels

Nine West “Cate” block heel in berry

This shoe gives me everything I want. It’s a comfortable heel that isn’t too high, the block heel is sturdy, the fabric is soft and offers some interesting texture, and the colour is bright, yet approachable.

I tend to have some ankle issues and these present no problems for me.

Worth it? Because they’re so comfortable, these are a solid purchase.

Cost per wear: $199.95 x 9 wears = $22.21

styling notes

  • Keep hair off the shoulders to provide shape in the upper body
  • The different textures of the fabrics allow for a versatile bag. Try box, glove or patent leather, or even suede
  • Stick with a pointed toe shoe, it is so flattering with the flair
  • The only jewellery you really need is an earring or a cocktail ring. Gold and silver will work with this outfit.
